Saddle stitching

Aka Handstitching

An age-old technique that we stand by.

Here’s why:

Saddle stitching involves using a single, rather long, piece of thread and attaching a needle on both ends. The piece is then sewn in a way that creates two rows of stitching in a single row of holes.

Another stitching technique used by most other companies is called Lockstitching. This refers to the method used by machines, where 2 separate spools of thread are used. A sewing machine passes a small loop of thread through the top of the leather which then interlocks with the thread on the bottom of the leather.

Although it would be much cheaper and faster to use a sewing machine we believe in saddle stitching because it creates a much higher quality and longer-lasting item.
